Meet A New Blogger Monday's: Madison Scott

What is a day like in the life of Madison?
A typical day is really quite boring. I have class for one hour and if I'm not working, I get to sit at home. I'll blog or watch shows on Hulu or Netflix. It's really a good deal now that I think about it. I don't have to stay on campus all day and I can spend a lot of time writing and getting homework out of the way. On the days I have work, I usually come home from class in a rush and change into something nicer than what I throw on for class. Although I don't always feel up to working, I love that I can wear whatever I want. It really helps with styling things for my blog because I can use what I would put together for work as guidelines for what I might put together if I had an unlimited closet.

What inspired you to begin a blog?
I've always loved to write and for years, I've started blogs and deleted them. I would watch Youtubers who had blogs and tell myself I'd start a serious blog at some point, but it never became a reality until late last year. I'd just joined the Her Campus chapter at my school and figured, if I could write each week for them, I could write for myself. Even if no one wanted to read, I thought it would be a fun way of keeping memories alive and documenting inspiration I saw for fashion or my life.

How long have you been blogging?
On and off for forever, but officially for about four months. If Tumblr counts, then, I've been blogging for six years!

What gives you inspiration for your blog posts and why?
Really, just whatever is going on in my life. If I notice a fashion trend, for example, that I really like, I'm going to want to make a styling post about it. If I'm obsessing over a particular food, I'll put up a recipe. The weekly things I'm loving posts I've started are like a quick look into the things I'm constantly going to and are inspiring me each week.

Who is your favorite designer?
In terms of shoes, Jeffrey Campbell! Without a doubt! I am in love with anything that Jeffrey Campbell makes. From something as simple as the Lita to the heel-less Night Walk... I love it all! I recently got my hands on a pair of the Scully and while they are a half size too small, I can't bring myself to sell them.

When it comes to fashion, I adore Alexander McQueen. I didn't get into fashion until my senior year of high school and even then, I loved Alexander McQueen. His past and present collections are always on the top of my must see list.

What special talents do you have?

I'd say writing, but I think any blogger will say that. Children always seem to gravitate towards me and I work seasonally for Disney, so I'll say entertaining and making children happy.

What category would you list your blog under? Fashion, etc.?
I'd put my blog in the beauty, fashion, lifestyle category. I think that's one category. Maybe lifestyle would be the best one. It's not strictly one thing over any other and I don't want it to be because I don't want to limit what I can write about and who my audience is.

What/who in life is of most importance to you? Family, etc.?
Definitely my family! Without them I wouldn't have completed any of the things I've done. I don't even know that I'd be in the same circumstances. I was adopted when I was a child, so who knows where I'd be today. With their support I was able to complete the International Baccalaureate program, I entered college as a sophomore, I was able to do a Disney College program, and I finally got the courage to start my blog!

What is your dream career and why?
My dream career would be running the social media department for Disney. I love Disney and I love blogging, so if I could do both, I'd be set for life! I don't think it would feel like a job and I'd be getting paid for something I love to do. It would probably be the easiest thing in the world. I'd also like to be an Olympic figure skater, but that's really not going to happen.

What is the best reward you receive from blogging?
Probably the comments from people I know. It's always nice when someone says they enjoyed reading what I wrote or the outfit posts I put up. The pats on the back are really what keeps me going and I love when people enjoy what I've created.
